DALTEX established in the early 60's, as a joint stock company renowned for the cultivation and export of fresh fruits and vegetables.
DALTEX cultivates 11500 hectares, owns and manages more than 12 pack houses all applying a full HACCP system through the whole agricultural and packing process in addition to adopting the EUREGAP European Standards and Tesco's Nature's Choice.
DALTEX is a major exporter of Egyptian potatoes with market share of 42%, as well as the primary importer of seeds. Furthermore, it occupies a remarkable market share of 25% in the Egyptian Citrus export business.
DALTEX has added to its product span grapes, melons, strawberries, pepper, peanuts, corn, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, cucumbers and onions. Finally, as an integration of its activities, is the sole distributor of the major Japanese and European agriculture and earthmoving machinery, as well as importing agricultural inputs including seeds, chemicals and fertilizers.
With a particular highlight on potatoes, being the largest crop produced by the company, Daltex exports around105, 000 tons of potatoes annually.
This quantity is directed to EU ( Germany , Italy , Holland , Greece , etc.), Russia , and Eastern Europe. Additionally, we supply around 15,000 tons for local market.
Daltex plants currently producing fields of around 2,500 hectares of potatoes.
Daltex Farms all are accredited both the Eurepgap and Tesco Nature's Choice quality certifications from international certification bodies) and inspect first hand our potato planting and harvesting procedures, and the very high quality we produce.
Daltex and Technico & New Development
After pioneering the production and exportation of potatoes, as part of the
Continuous growth and expansion, Daltex is currently undergoing a major development with Technico middle east and Africa, that we is believed will change the Potato Seed industry in the region and will have a major impact on every farmer in Egypt as well as in Middle East. Farmers will benefit from high quality seed at a reasonable price. Technico delivering a full solution to the farmer that would allow Egypt for the 1 st time to produce their own seed locally, without relaying importation of G5 and G6 that have affected with a lot of Skin Diseases. With Technico, we will able to protect our land from various diseases, increase our yield through the use of very early generation seed. We monitored the vigorous growth of the G1 and G2 plants in our fields, and the technology that Technico is offering is unique. The challenge now is to promote this technology Seeds to every village in the region and to provide the understanding of the benefits of their Technitubers. |
