From 1996 Shuntian has been engaged in producing Atlantic seed in China , Gansu province. When the business started, it was difficult for Shuntian to obtain good quality seed potato as there was a shortage of quality seed in China . At that time Shuntian used uncertified Atlantic chipstock as seed sourced from Gansu province. This was a very inefficient way to solve the seed potato shortage of the region. Since Shuntian had limited experience in potato growing and poor seed quality, the yield of Shuntian was very low. As the next step in 1999-2000, Shuntian planted locally produced Atlantic minitubers. Shuntian encountered the following quality problems:
- Minitubers were virus infected
- Variety mixture was a common problem
- Low yield
- Fast degeneration
- Agronomy support was not available
- End-users frequently rejected the final product
All of the above problems constrained Shuntian's development. In 2003 Shuntian heard about Technico ( Kunming ) Horticultural Co., Ltd. and at the beginning of 2004, Shuntian commenced its first trial with TECHNITUBER® seed in Gansu province. The result was encouraging and Shuntian achieved a very high yield of 3,500kg per mu (52 t/ha). As a result in 2004, Shuntian purchased approximately two hundred ton of G2 seed from Technico . At this stage the seed is growing exceptionally well on the Shuntian farm.

Their general view is that the main characteristics of Technico 's seed is that it has:-
- Outstanding growth
- Healthy plant and foliage
- 7 – 11 tubers for one plant
- The expected yield this year can be as much as 3 tons per mu (45 t/ha.)
Shuntian continues to benefit from the exceptionally high quality seed products of Technico . As a result of the reliable quality of Shuntian's products, many of the local growers have come to Shuntian to negotiate the purchase of Early Generation Seed. Shuntian's future is very optimistic with Technico due to their confidence in Technico's seed products. Overall, Technico's quality seed product is enabling Shuntian to expand its market and year by year achieve substantial profit growth.
